The transgender community is often invisible to society. And visibility is a matter of fighting for their right to exist, considering that Brazil is the country that kills more trans people in the world. In music, for instance, only 5 trans artists out of thousands occupied the music festival's stages in the country. This critical point inspired the urge to provide an impact on the trans artists community
Beats, an iconic ready-to-drink brand and long time LGBTQ+ ally, created Beats Stage - a public commitment to pay 100% of the fees for trans artists to perform in any music festival in the country. In the project's platform, we connected venues and festivals willing to offer their stages, and talented transgender artists willing to perform, not only during pride month or trans visibility day, but throughout the whole year. By the end, Beats increased the trans presence by 320% on stages all over the country in 2022, also making the brand present in events we could never even have the budget to sponsor.
